It’s already been a year (and change) since the Big Day™! Time to dig into the cake we had bouncing around the freezer lo these 12 months, and to finally tend to a few bits of long-overdue housekeeping.
Photos
First up: we’ve gone through the mountain of pictures our photographer shot for us at last. Please find a trimmed down album (~250 images) as a slideshow in our earlier Update, or as a photo wall in the Gallery. We also went ahead and put up the GREAT shots everyone took at the photo booth (Slideshow, Gallery).
Family photos can be found in their own album (Slideshow, Gallery). For anyone interested (and if you’ve got a lot of time on your hands?), you can see the extended album at the link below!
Thank Yous
Next: as our puppets mentioned, we have a great many folks to thank. ‘Better late than never’ might just end up being our catchphrase; well, with one key exception… (ahem — babies!) Still, no amount of time lessens the appreciation we feel.

Thrifting for decor AKA the day we burnt to a crisp and gave ourselves suntan lines weeks before Wedding Day
First and foremost: everyone who was graciously able to attend
Above all else, your presence made the day the unforgettable experience that it was. The chance to see friends from all walks of life, all at once, was intoxicating and a joy exceedingly difficult to replicate. We only wish that we’d had more time! A hundred weekend garden parties would not be enough.
In particular: Our bridesmaids and groomsmen
Truly, the day would not have been the same without you. Your enthusiastic help and camaraderie made days (and nights) that could have been mainly stressful into ones fondly remembered. A special shout-out is due our bridesmaids, for convincing Khanh to get the sleep she needed while continuing to help put together decorative elements and signage the night before.
Our families
The support and love we have felt from one another’s extended family units, both before the wedding and since, has left us feeling uncommonly welcome and cared for as we make our way together.
Market of Choice
Even a year later: what a great-looking and -tasting cake.
But that’s not all. Where Marcos’ puppet flippantly says "the people that helped with the wedding..." — before drawing a blank because he’s bad at spontaneous speeches (to say nothing of being distracted by cake) — these are the folks we’re talking about!
Grandpa Elder, for officiating a truly heartwarming ceremony
Friends still awake and putting together wedding favors in the wee hours of the night before, and especially Justin, for last-minute assistance touching up Marcos’s vows
Khanh’s extended family, for putting together the potluck get-together on Wedding Eve
Bryan, for our muppety doppelgangers: the most unique wedding gifts we have ever seen or heard of
Dan & Erin, for finding us a ceramic pig table centerpiece to replace the original following a fatal fall
Andrea, Erik and Liba for allowing us to take over their rooms to get ready for the ceremony and for item storage at the end of the night

Silky was actually a last-minute replacement following a mix-up on our part. Frankly, we would have been delighted to have found him from the start! Such enthusiasm, and totally happy to accommodate our finicky requests

Art imitates life
Well! For the most part (i.e. where it mattered), we feel so fortunate to say that everything came together on wedding day pretty much perfectly. Still, we (okay, mainly Marcos) wanted to make mention of a couple things we completely forgot to do.
AMF, AKA “Romulan Ale” AKA "An-Khanh & Marcos FOREVER” (🤮)
First, there was the making of a sign for our custom Drinks Menu. Now look, normally it wouldn’t be a big deal, except that we were particularly pleased with ourselves regarding the concept and naming of our main “signature drink”. Figures that we would completely forget to feature its modified etymology anywhere for people to actually see or anything. Anyway, gaze above upon what might have been.
Such pretty hands you have… What the heck is a Mimic?
Second, let it be known that Khanh cut out the most bad-ass hands and claws for our Mimic card/gift holder. The material used kept curling the fingers in the wrong direction, so Marcos curled the hands up into angry little fists so that the fingers would set the night before its debut. Wouldn’t you know it, he then forgot to unwind its fingers the day of. Sigh.
The deed is DONE
That should just about cover it! Thanks once again, everyone, for coming out and making this one of the happiest days of our lives. We miss you dearly and forever look forward to when we might next share in your company.
Khanh & Marcos
